Provins Valais has roots that date back to 1920. A cooperative of 5,000 winegrowers, it is the largest wine producer in Valais and Switzerland, and is also the most awarded in the country. Lead oenologist Madeleine Gay was awarded Swiss Winemaker of the Year 2013 & 2008. Madeleine Gay has been one of the key player in the re-development of old, sometimes almost distinct, grape varieties which are nowadays the pride of Valais.
