« Réserve » from Jean-René Germanier is a line of modern style wines of uncommon distinctions aged in wooden barrels for 12+ month (24 month for Champmarais).
Wines made from rare and indigenous grape varieties from the Alps (Amigne, Peite Arvine, Cornalin, Humagne Rouge), except for Cayas, a world-class Syrah that competes with the best ones from France or New World.
Tasting notes: Full-bodied showing a robe of “old gold”, with a sublime bouquet of quince jelly, honey, whiffs of orange peel reminiscent of Cointreau and a touch of vanilla. The palate offers the expressive alchemy of vivacity and a hint of bitterness balanced against an attack that is subtle and suave. Notes of caramel lingering on the finish round off its remarkable aromatic length.
Gastronomy: Mitis is best accompanied by blue cheeses, foie gras and spicy dishes. Also goes very well with fruit desserts and exotic fruits.
